Who we are

So nice to meet you. I’d love to share my love of the breed, and my commitment to the health, integrity and future of Siberian Huskies. My first dog of my own as a young woman was a mixed breed with some husky traits. I always admired the breed. I was smitten when I came across Jalerran Siberians FB. These weren’t >just Siberians. They were stunning. My eyes, and my knowledge at that time in 2008, was yet to become educated in why that was. I continued to watch and admire, but never thought I would be lucky enough to live with a unicorn dog. in 2011. I came across a post, a 6 month old puppy needed to be rehomed. I connected with Jess Moore, Jalerran Siberians. We had a long interview, and Jess determined I was prepared to take on a Siberian. I had had dogs my whole life, but not yet a well bred dog. We picked Lucy up and instantly fell in love with both her and the breed traits. You see, dogs are not just a dog in various sizes, shapes and colors. Each breed has unique traits, tendencies, and needs. It is important anyone considering a Siberian family member be able to meet the needs and be compatible with Siberian life.

At the time Lucy joined our family, we also had two mixed breed herding trait dogs. When our trio was all about 8 years old we decided to add a puppy into our lives before our older dogs became geriatric. Aoife (ee-fa, like Eva) joined us june 8 2019. when she was about 12 weeks old, a month of being with this precious creature, I knew I wanted to do more with the breed. I contacted Jess, and traveled back to Clarion PA for an assessment and long talk. It was important to Jess that I understood the work, pros/cons and expectations of showing in conformation. (link to breed standard or illustrated) That’s when I began learning breed standard. Jess became my co owner and mentor. In 2020 I completed Avidog’s year long course regarding care of pregnant bitches, whelping and caring for the new mom/pups.

It didn’t take long to eagerly take on another puppy in January 2021. Our red girl Orla flew to us from Oregon! Orla is a special gal in that she was a product of a frozen semen breeding. Her sire was alive in the 90s! Bringing old genetics forward into the breed’s future (ask jess something??) helps keep diversity?

Aoife completed her health testing and had her first litter 9/22/21. Raising the litter with her was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It felt meant to be.

2022 was a big year here! Amelia joined our family at 9 months old. Aoife had her second litter. From that litter, Mercy stayed with us. Now there were four!

My passion and education about the breed continued to gain depth.

Orla had her first litter and Clover stayed 2024!

I’m also fortunate to have several dogs shared in Guardian homes. What is a Guardian home? in this case the dog or bitch stays intact so that, should they complete all of the expected milestones they can be considered for breeding.

Aurora and Beau are littermates to Mercy

Theo is Clover’s littermate
